We owned property on the river for years and always found it pristine and very, very cold (because it is spring fed). The scenery in the area is incredibly beautiful especially in the Fall. Have fun. I own Port Austin Kayak and Bike Rental and I would be happy to take you on a guided tour. We have beautiful rock formations in Port Austin. It is spectacular kayaking in this area.
